Welcome to Art 7-8 for 2001-02
Art 7 will be learning about making and understanding visual images this year. They will study the basic elements of creating a visual image: color, line, shapes, forms, textures, space, value (light and dark). We will work in a variety of media (crayons, pencil, pastel, paint-poster and watercolor, clay, marker, and other special media). During our studies we will connect with artists, both past and present, and a variety of cultures. Students will be graded on their daily work in conjunction with following directions, understanding the concepts presented and completing the project to the best of their ability.
Art 8 will be creating projects with the elements and principles of art and exploring art and artists of other cultures. We will work with all the media used by the 7th grade students along with papier mache, scratch art, and several mixed media projects.
Each art student is responsible for paying a $10.00 art fee to cover the cost of the art supplies. This fee should be paid as soon as possible.
I will update this site with information about current projects as school progresses. I hope to also establish a site to provide photos of completed projects.
