Spelling Bee NEW THIS YEAR--Our Winner Goes to the State Bee and Maybe the National Bee!
All B.M.S. students take a spelling test to determine candidates for the school-wide spelling bee. The top scoring students in each grade become the contestants for this exciting in-school competition. Our bee winner will then go on to compete in the regional bee held at Rider University on March 19. The winner of this regional bee gets an all-expenses paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Spelling Bee: the top prize is $20,000! National Geographic Geography Bee
All B.M.S. students are given the opportunity to compete in the National Geographic Geography Bee. All students take a multiple-choice test to determine contestants. Then in January, about ten students, representing the top scorers in each grade, compete in the school bee. The winner of our school bee takes an additional multiple-choice test to move on to the state-level bee, whose winner competes in the televised national bee. Our school winner is recognized with a medal, and all contestants receive certificates of achievement.
