Use the cell replication site to review mitosis and meiosis for test. Spend this time learning about mitosis and meiosis. Nov 10: Complete lab 7 using our online text book. Virtual Fly cross. Review ch 15 information Nov 17: Research Genetic disorders to gain an understanding of what causes each one. Complete chart with help from others in class. Go to the DNA activity site in links below and work through the replication activities Read copy of article and write an article summary using format given earlier in the year. Review Ch 14, 15 and 16 for test on Thursday. Dec 1-9: CH 17,18,19: Protein synthesis: use the last link (DNA activities) to review protein synthesis. Use online text book (rlunceford 12491) to review activities Jan 6-16: Ch 18, 19, 20: Finish DNA recombination, gel electrophoresis, etc. Use online text book to review activities. Jan 20-29: Ch 21,22,23,24: Development and Evolution; Use text book to review activities; focus on Hardy-Weinburg activity. Test is Thursday. Feb 2-12: Ch 25, 26, 27, 28, 31: Early life on earth, prokaryotes, eukaryotes, protists, and Fungi. Feb 13-26: Ch 32, 33, 34: Animals Invertebrate Booklet is Due Monday, Feb 23; Test over Animals will be Thursday, Feb 26th; Identification Lab will be Wed, Feb 25th starting at 8:00 promptly. AP INVERTEBRATE BOOKLET DUE FEB. 23, 2004 In order to learn about each of the invertebrate phyla, you must be able to visualize each type and identify specific characteristics for each phyla which make it different and unique from all the other phyla. You will create a booklet with each of the following invertebrates included: Porifera Cnidaria Ctenophora Platyhelminthes Rotifera Nemertea Mollusca Annelida Nematoda Arthropoda Echnidermata Your booklet will include the following information: • Kingdom, Branch, Phylum, Classes • Examples of each class • Characteristics of each class o Digestion o Respiration o Circulation o Nervous system o Excretion o Reproduction o Interesting facts not included elsewhere • Drawing or tracing of each class; internal and external • The booklet should have a creative and colorful front page including the word "Invertebrates" in the title. You should also include a table of contents with numbered pages, and a Bibliography page of sources documented in the back. Late booklets will lose 1 letter grade per day!!!
