                   Welcome to Second Grade!

   In reading, we are working on phonics, vocabulary,
reading comprehension and fluency. We will be working
on the Dolch Sight Words, Fry Words, PALS remediation,
AR and much more to help everyone improve their reading skills.

     In math, we will be memorizing the basic addition and
subtraction facts. We will use Touch Math to help with
these skills. We will also be learning to regroup with
addition and subtraction. Later in the year, we will be
working on time, money, geometry, fractions, three place
addition and subtraction. We will also practice our skip-counting to
two, three, four, five, and ten.

    In social studies, we will be learning about famous people,
China, Egypt, and economics. In science, we will be learning
about animal habitats and life cycles. Later, we will be
learning about plants.
