To complete this assignment, you must first read two early Cold War goverment texts (see creepy government texts) and evaluate their possible influences on the American public at large. Once you have read these documents, you must analyze their contributions to one of several American incidents.
First you must read the government documents. Once this has been completed, you must analyze how these could effect the public psyche. How would the words of our leaders invite fear, patriotism, and other emotions in Americans. Develop a thesis on the effects of the government documents on the emotional well-being of our citizens. How would people react to these documents? Support your thesis with two developed paragraphs.
Second you must choose one of the three other internet websites. Read about the event and try to figure out how peoples' reactions to the Cold War and its documents (your original two paragraphs) could have influenced/allowed this to happen in America. With a thesis and two paragraphs of support consider how the heightened emotions of Americans might have allowed such instances of persecution to occur in the United States of America, a nation that prides itself on the freedom of the individual.
