Here are some great sites to use to investigate biographies! Another way to search is to use the person's name in quotation marks, use a + sign, and add the word 'biography' Example: "Peyton Manning" +biography When using the computers in the Media Center, there are a few rules (which may also apply in the Classroom!) 1. All internet use should be directly related to a class 2. No game playing, unless it is curricular related 3. Ask permission before printing anything from the computer. Pictures cost $0.10. 4. Only an adult retrieves materials from the printer. 5. PLEASE, only hit the print key one time! Often we end up with several copies of documents 20-30 pages long! 6. Avoid clicking on ads, games and other web distractions. They often take you away from the page you need, and it is often difficult to return to the page you needed. AND, probably the #1 thing to remember.... Just because it's on the internet, that doesn't mean it's true! You should always try to corroborate the information with a print source (book, magazine, encyclopedia)that has been more thoroughly checked for accuracy. You should always write down the web address so you can check for accuracy, and include it in your bibliography. We appreciate your patience as we try to help many students at once!
