Pre-Algebra at TLS
This page is for students who are in my Pre-Algebra class and their parents. Please use this page to check out what is happening in math class.
Math always builds on previous knowledge! Many of the concepts we discuss and learn about will be familiar because you have already learned the basics. Pre-Algebra will take these same concepts to a higher level.
For the most part we begin each class period with a quick check of the previous day's assignment, then go on to discuss the new lesson, do some practice problems, ask questions, and have some time to get started on the new assignment. Normally I assign the entire problem set (1-30) although I may make exceptions on some days. All assignments are due on the next class day! It is important that each assignment be completed on time and turned in when it is due! Late assignments mean lowered grades! We will have tests every week or two, and these will be worth 3 regular homework assignments.

I like math and I am here to help. If you are working on a problem set later in the day and you don't understand, you can come to my office during a free period, at lunch, or after school.

Fri. May 25: Lesson 109: Simple and Compound Interest. Assign: Problem Set 109 – Evens.
Mon. May 28: Memorial Day – No School
Tue. May 29: 8th gone – 7th grade – Worksheet
Wed. May 30: 8th gone – 7th grade- Worksheet
Thur. May 31 & Fri. June 1 – NO MATH
Mon. June 4: Lesson 110: Mark-up and Mark-down. Assign: Problem Set 110 - # 1-30.
Tue. June 5: Lesson 111: Commission and Profit. Assign: Problem Set 111 - # 1-30.
Wed. June 6: Test 20!
IMPORTANT.......Remember the process is important in Algebra! Doing problems in systematic and orderly steps makes the algebraic process easier.....and you usually get more problems done correctly!
