We are in the "final stretch of fifth grade! I cannot believe this year is coming to a close already!
In Everyday Mathematics, we are working on completing Unit 9 which consists of work on coordinates, area, volume, and capacity. We will then move to Unit 10 to work with data collection and algebra concepts and skills, followed by Unit 11 which is a study of volume. We will then complete the year with Unit 12 work related to probability, ratios, and rates.
In science, we are winding up our unit entitled Investigating Changes in Sound. Then, we will complete the last grading period with a unit entitled Investigating Changes in Light.
Our class has completed our study of the Civil War, and we are now studying the Reconstruction Era. We will wind up the year studying the Twentieth Century and Beyond.
What a great year we are continuing to have, working together in room 5! Thank you for all your support and for giving me the opportunity to work with your wonderful children!
