Two web sites will be posted to give you the opportunity to examine William Glasser's Reality Therapy and to link with the National Depressive and Manic-Deppressive Association.
William Glasser uses a psychodynamic approach centered on the three r's, responsibility, reality, and right and wrong. There is information presented on procedures that lead to change. I agree with Glasser's approach and recommend the link on Quality Schools.
After reading about Realtiy Therapy visit the following link which provides clear, concise information on depression. One benefit for educators is the distinction made between moods experienced by youth versus full blown depression. This link could serve as a valuable resource for parents dealing with a depressed youth. In addition, there is a quiz for an adolescent to take. Support group information is provided, as well as, how to start a group.
