News:
In word study we are reviewing long and short vowel sounds and initial consonants blends with "l" and "r".
We are continuing to work on using the writing process when we are writing our stories in writing workshop. We are also learning about parts of speech. We learned what nouns, verbs, and adjectives are. We have also review what a compound is.
In social studies we have been studying economics. We learned the difference between wants and needs and which jobs provide a service and which jobs provide goods. We also have learned about resources. We learned the difference between capital, natural, and human resources. We have learned about John Paul Jones and Paul Revere. We also have review time lines by making time lines on John Paul Jones and Paul Revere.
Homework:
Your child will be required to make a time line of his/her life. Your child will need to include important events of his/her life. This time line can as simple as the one provided below or it can be more elaborated. This project will be due May 18th.
