CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE
These classroom procedures were carefully planned to form a routine for the class so that maximum time can be spent on learning!  The teacher can alter them when necessary.  Procedures teach responsiblity!  All students are expected to quickly learn and practice them daily!

1.  Always enter each classroom prepared for the day with ALL supplies (notebook, paper, textbook, pencil, eraser, etc...)
2.  Begin morning assignment immediately each morning.  The assignment will be posted daily in the same place.
3.  All pencils MUST be sharpened first thing before class.
It is highly suggested to use a manuel sharpener at your desk.
4.  No one goes to the trash can until the END of class.
5.  Bathroom passes are kept next to the door. Only one student may leave the classroom on an emergency bathroom pass.
6.  Students MUST walk in a straight line not touching the wall and respecting personal space always.  No talking in the hall.
7.  All work to be turned in MUST be on loose-leaf paper with name and date on EACH sheet.  It is not my responsiblity to search for the unidentified paper's owner.
8.  Noise level in the lunchroom must be kept to a whisper.
9.  Excused absentee work will be filed in MAKE UP FOLDER.  It is the child's responsibility to find the work, complete it, and turn it into the teacher. If a student misses any amount of class time for ANY REASON, he/she is responsible for the missed work and homework.
10. Students are to be silently working when a visitor enters the classroom.  No one is to interupt unless there is any emergency.
11. When the teacher is late or absent, students are to line up next to the door silently until an adult lets them enter the room.  Once inside, follow daily routine.  Students are encouraged to always have reading material for pleasure.
12. ONLY the teacher dismisses students.  Bells tell teachers when to stop teaching.
13. Students MUST work together in groups without hesitation or argument on a daily basis. By working together we will help each of us to SUCCEED!

NOW A LITTLE ABOUT YOU TEACHER:
My name is Mrs. Crews and I am 32 years old. I am married to a wonderful man named Chuck and we have two super children.  Sydni is our six year old daughter that attends first grade at Forest Avenue Magnet.  Her little brother, Wilson is only three and goes to daycare.  This is my seventh year teaching and I love teaching sixth graders.  I graduated from Auburn University and I love football and basketball.  My other hobbies include designing scrapbooks, reading, skiing, and traveling.

I spent a lot of my summer time planning to teach you.  I went to many learning workshops to prepare myself for this job.  My family traveled to Birmingham, Mobile, the beach, the lake, Auburn, and all the way to Texas!  My goal this summer was to spend as much time possible with my two children.  It was fun!

The community and parents have very high expectations for Halcyon Elementary this year.  I plan to exceed all of those standards.  Not only do I plan to teach academics, but also I hope to share life long memories with my sixth graders.  I want to make coming to school fun!  It's going to be a fantastic year!

Welcome,
Mrs. Crews

PS  Students report to school on August 27th at 7:45 am.
