Students are now learning Public Forum Debate. This is a team debate and they will be working with a partner of their choosing. Topics will be selected on January 22 and 23rd. They have been given a paper detailing the guidelines for public forum debate, have watched a sample video of a public forum round, given a worksheet on writing arguments and a sample flow sheet. These papers are to be read by Friday in A day and Monday for B day. They should be prepared for a short quiz. The remainder of the week will be spent in the school library researching with their partner and preparing arguments for and against their case. Each student will have to prepare both a pro and con case. Debate of these rounds will begin on Feb. 2nd and each student will be expected to complete a round in class. This activity will take us into approximately Feb. 8th.
