Welcome to the start of 2nd Semester!
January 21 and 22 we will have orientation and students will be given lockers.
January 23-28. We will start our Fitness Testing:
Pacer
Grip
Flex
Push-Ups
Curl-Ups
February 3-19 Students will be participating in Volleyball. February 3rd an 5th students will be working on basic skills. Passing and Serving will be the main focus. Students will be divided into four teams and will play a seaon for two weeks. At the end of two weeks, teams will be seeded and will participate in a short playoff with the championship on the last day.
Volleyball Quiz will be Thursday, February 19th.
February 24th Students will start a new unit called Eclipse Ball. It was introduced in Canada and we have brought it to Saint Viator. It is an exciting game similar to volleyball and pickle ball. The rules are fairly similar to volleyabll. The students will play this for the two weeks.
Students will be given a study guide on friday (February 27) and the test will be on Friday (March 6). Students will be working out every other day.
March 9 - 30 Students will participate in Archery. They will be learning rules and safety procedures. They will do a walk thru for two days. Students will practice for a couple of days and then we will start competitions.
Students will have three quizes during the Archery Unit.
March 31 - April 17 Students will participate in Badminton. Students will learn the rules and guidelines of badminton the first day. Students will be paired up and work on basic serves, drop shots and smashes.
Students will be able to pick their partner. They will be assigned team numbers and will be playing other teams during the next three weeks. Students will have a quiz at the end of the unit.
April 21-May 1 Students will be participating in Floor Hockey. Students will learn basic rules and safety procedures the first day. Students will work on holding the stick and moving the puck up and down the court. Students will work on passing techniques. We will hold a draft, where two captains will be able to pick out of a hat their players.
Students will be given a quiz on May 1st.
May 5 - 14 Students will be participating in Soccer. Students will be introduced to the rules of soccer and will working on passing and dribbling. Students will be given a quiz on Friday, May 8th.
Any Seniors that are not above 87% will be taking the Final Exam!
