Welcome class of 2014!

January 18 please meet in the Boler Center (Mahoney Court) during your scheduled time. This will be orientation to the PE Curriculum and on January 19th students will be assigned their PE locker.

Please purchase your uniform and lock during book day. Students must have a school issued lock!! 

January 20-26  Fitness Week. Students will test in five areas:
Pacer
Flexibility
Curl-ups
push-ups
grip

Students will be tested three times during the semester. The first test serves as a guide for the the next two. Students need to improve their scores each time. Students will be given numerous activities in the fitness center to improve their scores.

Students will need the Strenght Training Anatomy Book for Friday (January 28th) 10 point assignment.



January 27th-February 11th  Students will be participating in the Basketball Unit. Students will learn the basic skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting. Students will be will be divided up into teams and will be playing a season. We will keep track of wins and losses and at the end of the unit we will seed the teams and have playoff.

Students will have a Quiz on the rules and regulations of baketball on Friday (February 11th).

Students will have a quiz on Chapter 1 (Arm Excercises) on Monday (14th) and they will be tested on the Target Heart Rate Formula on Wednesday (16th).

February 15th-25th students will participate in the Badminton Unit. The first couple of days, students will work on skills and learn the rules of the game. Students will be able to pick their own partners for game play.

Students will be tested on Friday (25th) on the rules and regulations of the game.

Students will have a test on Chapter 2 (Shoulders) next Wednesday, March 2.

During the week of March 7th, Students will be tested in the Pacer, flexibility, grip,curl-ups and push-up tests. The Rubric is located on our office window. Students can see scores for their age group.

Students will have their volleyball quiz on Wednesday(March 16).

Students will continue Volleyball until April 1st.

April 5th - April 20 Students will begin the Soccer Unit. Students will learn the basic skills of the sport. They will work on passing, dribbling, trapping, shooting, and positioning on the field.

April 19th- Students will have a quiz covering the soccer unit.

Week of May 2nd- Students will take their third and final Fitness Tests. The last test will be Friday(May 6th).

Students should start preparing for their FINAL EXAMS!! LOOK AT ALL STUDY GUIDES.

May 9 - 25th Students will have two units left. They will be participating in Softball and Flag Football. Study Guides are on line and there will be a test on both. Softball test will be Wednesday, May 18th and the Flag Football Test will be on Wednesday, May 25th.

Locker Clean out will on Thursday, May 26th and Final Review will be Friday, May 27th.
