Welcome Freshmen. Period 1 We will meet in the dance room on Tuesday, January 21st. Wednesday, January 22nd, we will meet in the fitness center. You will be assigned PE Lockers. The locks must be school issued. If you do not have your lock, please go to the school book store. Thursday, January 23rd, We will dress!!! First Fitness Test. Thursday, January 30th, We will finish up with the Trunk Lift and any make-ups. We will also be in the fitness center. Rules and safety will be covered using the facility during class. Friday, January 31st, Students will begin the Floor Hockey Unit. Students will be presented with a variety of skills to work on the first day. February, 7th Students will participate in their first game experience. Incorporating the rules and regulations. Week of Feb 10th Students will continue Floor Hockey and also be in the Fitness Center. Wednesday, February 12th Students will have a quiz on the Floor Hockey rules and regulations. Study Guide will be available for students to review. February 12th Target Heart Rate Worksheet Due!!! February 19th Students will start the Volleyball Unit. We will learn the basic techniques of contacting the ball and work on service. February 21st Students will continue with serving and we will go over basic rules and regulations. Students will have a quiz at the end of the unit. Study Guide will be made available for students to review next week. March 7th, Volleyball Quiz March 3 - 6, Second Fitness Test. Each test will be graded. Rubric is online and also posted on the window in our office. March 10th - 21st Students will be involved in the Badminton Unit. Students will learn basic stroke techniques, plus learn how to set up the courts properly. Wednesday, March 12th Students will learn the rules and regulations of the game. March 31st-April 15th Students will be involved in the Flicker-ball Unit. Students will learn the basic rules of the game. There will be two different games introduced to the students. This game requires students to be really active. It is a great cardio activity. April 23rd - May 9th Students will begin the Flag Football Unit. Students will be taught basic techniques of throwing, catching and kicking the football. Students will demonstrate moving and catching techniques in class. Students will then demonstrate techniques in game play. They need to be able to work with their teammates in an actual game setting. April 28th-May 1st Students will have their third and final Fitness Test.
