Course Description
Welcome to your Eleventh grade United States History class. This course is designed to provide students with the analytic skills and factual knowledge necessary for dealing critically with United States history. You will learn about the History of the United States in every aspect, from the discovery of the New World through the current situation in Iraq.
Needed Supplies
For this class you will need the following supplies:
Pen/Pencil
Notebook (3 ring binder preferably)
Textbook (will be distributed in class)
Expectations
As your instructor, I have very lofty expectations for each of you. I will respect your right to learn, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that your rights as students are upheld. I expect the same in return. I expect to witness in the classroom the same measure of respect that I give to all.
Class Rules
My classroom rules can be summarized in four words:
Respect – Show respect to all.
Prompt – Be on time for class/school.
Responsibility – Your actions, Your responsibility
Prepared – Have what you need when you need it.
Grading Scale
You will be graded on a 7-point scale.
A-93-100
B-85-92
C-77-84
D-70-76
F-below 70
Every grade will carry the same weight with the exception of research papers. These papers will be worth twice as much as the other assignments.
