Mrs. Gould and Ms. Weil's junior class will be working on a mock school principal election. In government students will be learning how to campaign and conduct an election. They will also learn how to conduct public opinion polls.
Today, We will start with the following:

Read 8-1 and 8-2 on pages 208-221 and doing the assessment questions for both sections.
This is due on Thursday.
We will also be discussing our public opinion poll assignment due next Tuesday.

Finish Persuasive essay: Declaration of Independence : What American played the most important role in the Declaration of Independence?
Write a one page single spaced essay. Be sure to write a minimum of three paragraphs. First paragraph should include an introduction and thesis statement. 2nd paragraph should include defense of thesis using examples and facts from the movie, "1776" You may also use outside sources of information if necessary. 3rd paragraph should include a conclusion or a reiteration of thesis statement.
Essay will be evaluated using six-trait writing model. Remember to proofread and spell-check. Use MLA style of heading on your paper.
Paper is due at end of day on Friday, September 25th. 2-5 will due on Thursday, September 24th at start of class.
