Although celebrated in many parts of Hispanic America, "El Día de los Enamorados," is limited to romantic love.  It is not a celebration of friendship, and the exchange of cards or gifts among children is not considered appropiate. In Costa Rica and other countries, however, it is associated with the International Friendship Day. . Similarly, in France it's a holiday for one's paramour, with the ubiquitous flowers and bonbons.
