During Week 7, all students will observe at least one college class listed on the signup form.  On Monday you will receive a list of available classes.  Your class observations and further research will form the basis for your second presentation.

Choose a class that interests you, is in English and requires academic listening for students.  Do not choose a physical education class or lab class.  Consider choosing a class or classes that other students are not observing.  This will make your presentation more interesting and unusual.

Your presentation on your observation experiences should include information on where the class fits in programs at the college.  Is the class required for a certificate or program?  Is it a prerequisite for classes you want or are required to take?  How much study time to do you think will be required for this class?

Remember that you need to practice your presentation at least once or twice.  You must actually give the presentation to another person, standing up and using your note cards to give the talk from beginning to end.  Your listener can time it for you and let you know if you need to change it. You can practice with Chris or Betty by appointment, or see the ESL Tutor, Chariti, in the Tutoring Center in the aftenoons (check her schedule).
