March 27, 2001 Hello! This week we are making discoveries about plants and what they need to grow! We will be conducting our own experiments to prove our theory of why plants need water, air and light to grow! Spelling finds us on chapter 28. This chapter is on compound words. The words are as follows: bathtub, bedtime, myself, someone, maybe, into, upon, anyone, withour, cannot, stop, flag, playground and nobody. The bonus words are butterfly and carnation. In math we are discussing geometric shapes. Today we discovered what the faces and edges are of a three-dimensional shape. The students constructed their own shapes using die-cuts! They loved the activity! This is a great group of students! We wrote garden poems today and illustrated them using Kidpix in the computer lab! We are very excited about the field trip next week. Mrs. Dee will be sending information about the field trip in the next few days! Have a super week! Mrs. Laird
