Notebook due dates for 8th grade: 1/22/10, 04/16/10
Every attempt is made to maintain this website up to date. However, all dates are subject to change because students may master material faster or slower than is anticipated or special events may occur which remove children from class. Therefore, please check this website but understand that students may be given different information. Students will meet daily, Monday - Friday.
Monday, Nov. 23: Complete lab.
Tuesday, Nov. 24: Teach students how to analyze an atom using the periodic table. Worksheet given with the front for practice. Due Wed.
Wednesday, Nov. 25th: Lab. "The tank of death." Students will be given a 6' x 6' square of aluminum foil and challenged to float metal discs. Team with the greatest number will have access to the "super" prized box.
Monday, Nov. 30: Thanksgiving break. No school.
Tuesday, Dec. 1: Check the front of the analyzing atoms sheet and assign the back for Wed. Class time to work on the sheet and complete sections 4.2 and 4.3 - previously assigned.
Wednesday, Dec. 2: Check the worksheet and section 4.2 questions. Review Bohr's model for an atom and practice drawing Bohr's models. Assign quiz for friday on atomic structure and particles.
Thursday, Dec. 3: 8th grade Retreat.
Friday, Dec. 4: Quiz. Check section 4.3 and discuss.
Monday, Dec. 7: Class time to work on chapter review. #'s 1, 4 - 11, 15 -19, 21, 26, 28 - 33, 35, 36, Test Prep 4 - 6.
Tuesday, Dec. 8: Go over chapter review.
Wednesday, Dec. 9: Test over chapter 4. Assign vocabulary for chapter 5 for Friday.
Thursday, Dec. 10: Elements Quiz. Classtime to work on vocabulary assignment and study for voc. Quiz. (Tuesday).
Friday, Dec. 11: Check vocabulary and discuss.
