D. Mallett’s Lesson Plans May 7 - 10 TAAS READING - Students are working on various creativity, spelling, and reading activities. Some are done as individuals and some are done as a group. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - Students will be given a list of all remaining speeches for the semester. Then the will be given a hand out for the "Twas the Night Before speech. Based on "The Night Before Christmas" poem by C,. Clement Moore, students will write their own version of a Night Before something speech. The speech must be at least 10 stanzas (4 lines each with at least two rhyming lines) that tells a complete story. The poem must be written in the two class periods that we meet this week. Anything not completed within those two periods, the students must come in before or after school to complete. We will give these speeches during the first class period of next week. ENGLISH III - Students will give their oral presentations for their flags. Then students will write down all the rules their parents have for them. Then they will mark the rules that they feel are appropriate and that they will probably use. We will discuss these as a class. Then we will discuss the rules that they feel are stupid and discuss those. Students will also be able to work on any papers they haven't turned in and to finish their last paper that is due next week.
