Welcome to Deep Run High School. I am very excited about the 2008-2009 school year.
I have taught all grade levels of high school English, including AP classes. I have also taught journalism and have a master's degree in counseling.
Ninth grade English is a fundamental year. We will cover literature, grammar, vocabulary, oral presentations, writing and research.
I have a separate link and page for 9A English and 9C English that will post updated information. This page is general information that applies to all of my ninth-grade English students.
Work must be submitted on time for full credit unless you are absent.
****IF YOU ARE ABSENT, YOU MUST TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO CONTACT ME FOR MAKE-UP WORK. Being responsible is important.
(I check email several times a day.)
Make certain that all papers have your first and last names, the block/period, and the date.
All writings assignments must be done on the computer and printed, or neatly written in black/blue ink. No pencil. No torn sheets of paper. Limited crossed out words.
Journals - pencil is okay.
I will expect a hard copy of your work. I will accept work placed in my on-line school drop box only when agreed upon or requested.
I am now designing my SCHOOL SPACE website. This program will allow students to get work when not in school/on the server. It will allow the teacher to put work on the site when not at school/on the server. It will allow for greater flexibility and communication.
