Welcome Back! I extend a special welcome to the new 6th grade class!

This promises to be another great year! Middle School students will focus on broadening their knowledge of computer applications and technology skills, concentrating in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Power Point, and Excel). Students will use a digital camera and scanner to enhance their documents and presentations. Students will continue to use correct computer terminology; keep abreast of basic computer components; and enhance their knowledge of how to organize, manipulate, and maintain files and folders on a network. Keyboarding skills will be re-enforced. Also, I will be working with the Middle School teachers to integrate technology within their content areas and assisting them with locating age-appropriate internet sites which compliment their instructional units.

All classrooms are equipped with internet access, and brand new Dell computers. This is a tremendous asset for enhancing and enriching classroom instruction. Students are able to access their files from any computer on campus. Also, the internet will be a tool for students to conduct research for their various school projects.

Misuse of network, computer equipment/peripherals and software will affect a student’s conduct grade, and may result in the restriction of computer privileges.
