#8: Ecology 3 - 4 weeks
Organisms and their environment, population interactions, energy flow through an ecosystem, diversity

This is our first real science unit. All of biology is interrelated of course. I choose to start with ecology because we get to think about and explore the world that we really see all the time.

Some key ideas that we will be going over:

What is Ecology?

What is an Ecosystem?

How Does the Physical Environment Affect Organisms?

How are Ecosystems Organized and How do They Differ?

How do Ecologists Study Populations?

How do Populations grow and Interact?

It should be fun....you need to stay an active learner though. Don't forget to read the book. Try the ten question pretest link. Let me know how you do. Try the java vocabulary games as often as you can.

Also here, when you have time, is a sample multiple choice "test". This will give you a better idea about the type of mutiple choice questions found in the NYS Regents.

The World Book Encyclopedia link is very good. Perhaps read it all over the next week or so. I will be posting other links so keep checking.

We will do our first group projects with this unit. More on this later....
