A summary of the activity must be handed in the day it is presented to the class.  Idea books are available.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPANISH:  CLASS INFORMATION

WHAT WE WILL DO:  We will learn lots of Spanish vocabulary mostly by means of games, songs, and oral work in class with each other and with me.  We will cover the Spanish units in “Invitation to Languages”.

A video tour of Spain will be taken.  One Spanish movie will be watched in its entirety.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:  You are required to bring your book, your binder, a folder and a notebook specifically for this class everyday.    Also bring a pen, pencil, a good attitude and a willingness to listen and work.

GRADING:  Your grade will be determined ½ by written work and quizzes and ½ by participation, attitude, and behavior.  Make sure to see me at the beginning of the class if you have been absent to find out what we did on the preceding day.   Work must be made up promptly in order to get credit. Consider consulting my homework web site even before you get to class:  http://www.quia.com/pages/edgarfrenchclasses.html.  It is important to keep absences to a minimum.  It is impossible to make up oral work that you miss.

METRO TICKET REWARD SYSTEM:  On occasion, I will issue zeroxed metro tickets that you may turn in for prizes on special days or for extra credit at the end of the quarter.  Sometimes you may be required to pay back metros for certain infractions of class rules.  Leaving class to use the restroom costs two metros.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

All rules that you have for other classes probably also apply here.  Just use your common sense.  Some things to specifically keep in mind are:
--take your seat when the bell rings
--stop talking when teacher is talking
--no talking when other students are responding
--no name-calling, improper language, or teasing
--respect property
