PowerPoint can be a simple or complex program; we will start out with the simple! Log in and select PowerPoint (for Office users it is part of the Office suite). Go to Template-click ok. Select your choice of background design-click ok. Click the default layout choice, click to add title, type title. Click to add text, type text. To center text, go to Format, Alignment and choose Center (or click the center icon as shown. Your first slide is complete! Slide #2 Click on Insert, New Slide or use the Common Tasks toolbar. Choose a layout with a graphic or clip art. Type in a title and text and double click to add a graphic. Choose a graphic, click and insert. The picture can be resized by placing the mouse on the small boxes surrounding the graphic and manipulating it. Follow the same procedure to insert a chart. Inserting a Hyperlink (Non-linear Slide) Have the slide you want to link in the work form (on screen). Click on Slide Show from the menu bar. Go to Action Buttons, choose the slide you want to link to (previous slide, next slide, first slide, etc.) Your cursor will change to a + click where you want the hyperlink icon to appear, click ok. You should see an arrow button on the slide. When you run your presentation, it should link to the proper slide with a mouse click.
