DATES TO REMEMBER
Welcome to First Grade! I hope you had a great summer break. I was glad to see you at our Open House. Please practice learning your PIN Number for school.
We are completing our third quarter of the school year.
Please continue to sign and return the Homework folder daily.
In Language Arts we will review beginning and ending sounds as we start the year. Please practice your address and telephone number.
MATH:
We will need to refer to the homework folder as we begin to count using money.
Homework Planner: This folder is our tangible way of communication. This same folder travels back and forth with your child daily. Please check it nightly for forms, graded papers, and letters of interest. Please send it to school with YOUR SIGNATURE OR INITIALS so I know you have seen it.
Content: In the computer lab we are working on keyboarding skills. Our students are learning the home row keys.
Sweater/PE shoes: Sometimes the room temperature is chilly because of the air conditioner. Please consider leaving a sweater/jacket with your child's name on the inside here in class. We also have a basket for shoes for P.E. if you choose to have the shoes stay in school, please also have your child's name inside each one. Our lunch time is from 11:00 - 11:30. Parents are always welcome to come eat. There are tables set up just for that purpose. Your child may invite one student from our class to join you. Our PE time 1:10 - 1:55, computer lab is on Friday at 2:00 - 2:45, our art class is on Monday at 9:35 - 10:20, and music class is on Wednesday at 12:00 - 12:45. You are always welcome to join us.
