Improve the World Proposal
As a member of the KTF Thinktank, it is part of your job to propose something we can do to make the world a better place. Your assignment is to write up a formal proposal for action.
ASSIGNMENT: Write a 400-600 word formal proposal for solving a problem. You may choose to look at a global problem or a more local one (Think global, act local).
Due dates: Nov. 28 (Wednesday) rough draft
Dec. 7. (Friday) final. Attach rough draft & peer evaluations
Purpose: to identify and propose a realistic solution to a problem
Objectives: Analyze a problem

12-10 Writing about Literature: Workshop 8 in Writer's Craft p. 238. Read and discuss Doris Lessing's "Sunrise on the Veld." Discuss elements of literature used to express meaning.
12-11 Read "The Hatchery" chapter from Brave New World by A. Huxley. Answer questions 2-5 about plot, characters, setting, and narrator's voice. Due at the end of the period.
12-12 Continue answering questions about Huxley: 6-9 about imagery, symbolism, language. Read Huxley's biography and apply the information to the story. Due at the end of the period.
12-13 Finish by writing 100-200 words each on questions 10, 11, and 12 about Theme and meaning. Due at the end of the period.
