This week we will examine the elements of argument by analyzing educator Alfie Kohn's essay,September 11.
For Monday, read Chapter 17 (Dornan/Dees) & be prepared to define the term argument and identify the assertions, assumptions, evidence, claims, and warrantsin Kohn's essay.
For Wednesday's class, read additional works about the September 11 attack (Follow links at bottom of this page to these works). We will analyze Kohn's essay, using evidence from the articles to support or question his assertions.
Friday, we meet in the computer lab, where you will begin to write a critique of Kohn's argument, using evidence from these articles and at least one other you have located on your own.
