Welcome to English 9, "the most important class you will ever take!" 

English 9 is a recently developed course for high school freshmen designed to prepare students for the Maryland State High School Assessments.  It is organized into six thematic units.  In each unit, students will read, view, listen to, write, and speak about materials that all examine the same basic idea or theme.  Following is a record of the assignments given since the beginning of the year and what was covered in class that day.  The most recent assignment is at the top of the list:
