For Wednesday,
Read the article " Generation Diva" from Newsweek, ( link is in the links on either nicenet or Quia. Then post a summary and response to it.
Read all the core readings from the Gender Roles Chapter. We'll go over the vocab. etc. in class. You will be writing your next essay on this general topic. However, it will be a cause / effect essay, so while you may choose a related topic, it will need to address either causes or effects. We will go over the essay format in class for those who are not familiar with it.
Revise the midterm essay you got back if you want to improve your grade. Otherwise the grade you got stands.
Watch your favorite show or movie and look at it from the point of view of how gender is portrayed. Be prepared to share this information with us in class next time.
Don't forget to keep up with your vocabulary, and if you have not given me your research paper draft yet, I need it ASAP even if you feel it is a rather rough draft. It would be helpful, however, to have made a goood attempt at it since I can only give feedback on what you actually write.
