Here are some homework tips that may help!

  • Make sure that your child has a quiet, comfy spot to do his/her homework with limited distractions. (In front of the T.V. is not a good idea!)
  • If possible, try to be consistent with a homework time each afternoon/evening. I know this can be challenging with our busy, busy lives, but it does make life easier when this can be done and your child will benefit from the consistency.
  • Please make sure that you have a set of supplies at home that are handy! Your child will need pencils, crayons, scissors and glue at home for the variety of assignments we do. (Please NO pen on homework if possible!)
  • When your child is done with his/her homework, have him/her put it right into the slick folder and put it right into the backpack! This way we have no "I did it but I forgot to bring it!" :) It also keeps it safe from little hands of little siblings!
  • Feel free to help your child if he/she needs it. Just try to guide your child without actually "doing" the work for him/her. Unless otherwise instructed, your child should be doing the writing in all homework assignments. Please let me know if your child has a particularly hard time with any homework assignment or jot a note on the top of the page so I can provide assistance and extra practice in class.
