November 30, 200l Dear Parents, Monday is Day 6. The shopping has been completed and the pizza is gone, but three children will be very happy in a few weeks because of your generosity. Last night was really an enjoyable evening for the teachers and the Olders. The Olders really did a great job of comparing prices, and looking for sale items. The clothes and toys they chose are very nice, and they are quite proud of them. We will continue this tradition as long as our students choose to do this each year. The Middles really look forward to the next year when they can go, so we are pretty sure that the tradition will be repeated. The Middles and Olders are getting to the end of our Reading unit and will be testing the week of December 10th. The Youngers will continue with Companion unit #10 in reading next week. In Math the Youngers and Middles will be starting subtraction, and the Olders will finish their unit on addition this week, and will begin subtraction the following week. The Spelling words are: Y - no, look, and, had, see; M -drink, phone, city, just, use; O - by, put, place, weather, whether. In Social Studies we will be continuing our unit on Community for the rest of December. We may be asking for your help with some simple research that your child will need to be involved in, and we will let you know the details next week. We would like you to save ½ gallon cardboard milk cartons if you have them. We are planning a fun project for January (if we have snow!). Have a good weekend everyone, and enjoy the mild weather. Sincerely, Ben, Linda, and Betsy SCHOOL DISTRICT OF HOLMEN www.holmen.k12.wi.us EVERGREEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Patrice Tronstad, Principal 510 Long Coulee Road, Box 460 Holmen, WI 54636-0460 VOICE: (608) 526-9080 FAX: (608) 526-9540 EMAIL: tropat@mail.holmen.k12.wi.us
