We are working hard on making responsible decisions in 4th grade. Students should be prepared by having work completed, planners signed & filled out, using black folders, and being prepared for class.

Requirements for the AR parties:
1. Must have met their 25 point goal.
2. Must have a percentage of 85% or better. (shoot for 90%)
3. Must be reading on level.
4. Students should be getting 3 points each week from NF books.

ATTENTION PARENTS!! Daily Jobs for 4th Grade Parents ----
*****Ensure that your child is reading each afternoon!
*****Practice multiplication/division facts with your child each night.
*****Initial student planners (each night) and check black folders.

NEWSLETTER: ASSIGNMENTS AND ACTIVITIES

AR: READ AR EACH DAY (AT HOME)! (Each student will need to achieve 25 points by the end of the nine weeks. We are working to get three points a week from non-fiction books in the classroom.)

MATH: I will be trying to include lots of problem solving in math this year. We will be working to represent our answers using pictures/diagrams, numbers/equations, and with words (explain/justify). We will continue to use the TI-15 calculator in class. If you would like to purchase one they can be found at www.walmart.com
The focus skill for the second nine weeks is fractions. We will also be covering graphing at the end of this nine weeks.
SCIENCE: We will continue to use our study journals for science. All materials needed to study/review will be placed into the journals.
