This week 1st throught 5th grades have been dancing. We have been focusing this week on the traditional dance right here from the Appalachian Mountains, The Virginia Reel. I am so excited about this dance. We have learned a modified version of the Virginia Reel and hope to learn the challange steps of the "reel" in the future. The following are just a few pictures that I captured while a First Grade class was dancing.
Also this week Mrs. Counts and I had an opportunity to pair Mrs. Colvin's fourth grade class with Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Boles CDC Classes. I love the great leadership and compassion that is shown in these pictures here from the older students to the younger ones as we play some percussion instrumetns. FAIRMONT STUDENTS ROCK!!!!

These are my girls. Josie is the spotted one and Sophie is the solid grey kitty. They love music, snacks and play-time. They are both rescued from the pound. Josie loves to have her brush time each night. She is very jealous of this time with me. Sophie loves to sit in the bathroom and watch the bubbles in the bath.
This was my grandmother's cat. When she passed, we adopted Baby for our own. My Nannie called him Baby, but we call him Baby Booger because he has a small black spot on his nose.
We would like to proudly announce the birth of our baby boy to my Fairmont Family. This is Alystaire Michael Higgins. He was born on October 8, 2009. He was 7.0 lbs and was 19 1/4 inches long. We are all doing fine and would like to thank you for yur well wishes during my time off.
