*** After grading the Binder Quiz on Friday, a goodly number of you stated you were still feeling unsure about surface area.  If you are one of those students, please go to my portaportal at: htttp://guest.portaportal.com/kfanning.  Go to the Class Launcher and try the activities listed there.  These should help clear up some of your questions.

A/B/C/E Groups:  Bring in a cylinder and/or a snack-filled cylinder for Monday.

D Group:  Write the definitions for the terms "base(s) [geometric]", and "cylinder" in the Vocab section of your binder. [def, 2 facts, 2 ex., sent.]

D Group:  Do #1 (p. 122), then find all the possible prisms that would require 18 blocks, list their dimensions, find the surface area for the prism with the greatest and least surface area (* and circle).

We have completed half the Term.  Progress Reports went home today.  Please know that grades can easily go up or down before the term ends.  At this point, because there are only a few grades to date, one low grade can great swing an average.  By the end of the term more than a hundred grades are averaged.  Please relax, regroup, and give your best effort to your learning.
