Salvete omnes! Welcome to Mr. Penland's Latin hub page. Use the links below to go the desired class or club link: SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear Students and Parents, Since no homework will be assigned over the SOL testing period, this would be an ideal time for students who have run out of momentum to catch up on missing work and bring up their assessment grades from this marking period as well as any previous marking. Mr. Penland's open gradebook policy allows any Latin student to make up all homework for most credit back, retake any assement for full credit, and submit all missing work for full credit. Unfortunately some students seem to mistakenly believe that the school year ends with SOL and AP testing, not to mention acceptance into college in the case of seniors, and consequently grades may drop precipitously at this time due to lack of motivation and effort on the part of these students. It does not. Latin courses will continue to be taught until the final exam. Any student who does not take full advantage of Mr. Penland's generous grading policy has only himself/herself to blame for the grade earned in this course. Mr. Penland also has lots of time available to help students who need the extra attention. Please contact Mr. Penland if you have any questions on how any student can improve his/her grade in Latin. Thank you! (fapenlan@henrico.k12.va.us) Try learning Classical Greek! It is not too late to join! Follow the new link below.
