Dear Students and Parents:
READ THOSE AR BOOKS!!!!!!!!!
BOOK IT!!! New forms for February Book It are being sent out in this week's Thursday folders. Students are required to read three fourth-grade level novels during the month.
MATH TEST TUESDAY, Feb. 19.
SPELLING List 21 will have 25 words (20 list words and 5 Home Base Words). The test will be on Friday and will again be in paragraph form. There will be NO Spelling the week of Feb. 19 - 22.
BIBLE SCRIPTURE this week is John 1:1-6. This will be on the test next Wednesday, Feb 20. We will continue Memorizing the first Chapter of John for the next three weeks.
History - We began Texas History this week. Chapter 1 TEST will be Wednesday Feb. 20. Your student has an outline to study.
SCIENCE -- We will begin Chapter 2 in Earth's Land Resources.
READING - Students have a Vocab List this week over "Dick Whittington and His Cat". The Vocabulary Quiz will be on Friday. There will be NO VOCABULARY the week of Feb 19-22.
LANGUAGE - We have begun a Unit on Pronouns this week. This unit will continue for the next two weeks, at least.

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS/EVENTS:
1. Students have been provided a copy of Sign of the Beaver. They have a calendar indicating chapters to read nightly. Also, they have a Journal to complete daily over the assigned chapters. Please remind them to read nightly and bring their book to class each day.
2. ACCELERATED READER/BOOK IT--Students will read at least one accelerated reader book every two weeks. This is a classroom assignment. Students are also required to read three (3) chapter books each month.
**Students should be reading at home EVERY NIGHT 20-30 minutes to meet these requirements. PARENTS, please remind your students to read. They gain so many benefits from reading.
