Français I
Oral Semester Project
Spring 2003
DUE: JUNE 3, 2003
Each of you will team up with one member of your class. Together you must create and perform a dialog in French with a minimum of 16 lines (8 lines per person). The dialog must pertain to a theme covered in chapters 1 through 6 of Dis-moi! Expressions of greeting and departure may (and should) be included in the dialog, but they alone cannot be counted among the 16 lines. Nor will reaction expressions (e.g. "Ah oui!" "Vraiment?"), although you are encouraged to use them.
Note: This dialog must be different than the written semester project done by either student.
You are required to audiotape your dialog at some point between now and Tuesday, June 3, 2003. You may choose to do this before school, after school, during tutorial. In all three cases, this must be scheduled in advance. If class time permits (there is no guarantee that it will) you may record then.
No notes of any kind are permitted when you tape your dialog, so practice as often as necessary until you are completely familiar with it and have it committed to memory.
Remember to use emotion and intonation. Do not mumble or whisper. Make it sound like you are actually having this conversation in a real-life setting.
The project, together with your written presentation, is worth a total of 220 points, which will be included in your fourth quarter grade. Please refer to the rubric attached to your handout so you know what I am looking for.
