PQP deals with action that "had happened". For example, I went to his house at noon, but he had left at 11:00.
Example: If you had studied, you would have passed the test.
Forming the PQP is just like forming the PASSÉ COMPOSÉ, except for PQP you use the IMPARFAIT of the auxiliary verb.

pqp - I had spoken - j'avais parlé
p comp - they have left - ils sont partis
pqp - they had left - ils étaient partis
p comp - we saw her - nous l'avons vue
pqp - we had seen her - nous l'avions vue
p comp - she woke up - elle s'est réveillée
pqp - she had woken up - elle s'était réveillée
p comp - she has washed her hands - elle s'est lavé les mains
pqp - she had washed her hands - elle s'était lavé les mains
