AR DEADLINES FOR SECOND TERM - 1st DEADLINE. - Dec.4th, 2nd DEADLINE.3rd DEADLINE- Dec. 18th, Jan. 8th, and for BLUE AND WHITE ONLY - Last deadline -Jan. 29th. PLAN YOUR READING.REMEMBER THE REPORT IS DUE IN CLASS THE DAY OF THE DEADLINE;THIS MEANS YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE QUIZ PRIOR TO AR REPORT COLLECTION.
Assignments due this Week. LONG TERM- NOUN PACKET III due Dec. 1. ESSAY DATES- Students have begun their first essays. This weekend students should "take a rest" from their essays as long as they have three marked up rough drafts and have completed all the edit sheets necessary to this point. The final essay is due Nov. 30th, the Monday after Thanksgiving. All editing packets and first drafts will also be due in class at thsi time. There will be a spelling quiz and a vocab quiz on the 24th. The spelling quiz words are the next five in your list plus any other review words. Take a look at the spelling activities on this site to help you. Vocab words are the "Brian's Song" words PART ONE. You should have done activities B and C in the vocab section of your "Brian's Song" packet with the sub Friday. I will be looking for these Monday. You should be working on the vocab practice boxes this weekend to help you with this vocab. Both assignments will be collected Mon.
HOMEWORK
Week of Nov. 23-
Monday- Vocab sentences "Brian's Song". Study for vocab and spelling quiz. At some point in the next week, you should be typing your final essay to bring to class on Monday Nov. 30th. Read AR and take AR quizzes.
Tuesday- Continue with essay. Read AR and take AR quizzes.
Wed. Remember you will have a quiz on "Rikki Tikki Tavvi" the Monday after Thanksgiving. We have reviewed the story and notes. You will need to know the parts of a story we discussed on Monday of this week. Look at your notes from the PowerPoint slide. Also, Nov. 30th Monday- FINAL ESSAY DUE IN CLASS WITH ALL THE OTHER DRAFTS AND ESSAY MATERIALS INCLUDING THE ESSAY EDIT PACKET.HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

WED- No school Wed. - Veterans' Day- Remember all those who are serving our country now and recogognize those who have gave their lives for our freedoms.

I have changed the date for having your third rough draft into class until MONDAY.. You will need all the other parts of your essay as well. Read and take AR quizzes.

HELPFUL HINT FOR STUDYING VOCABULARY Buy some index cards and metal rings, and you can create flash cards for your vocabulary. On one side, write the vocabulary word, on the other write the definition of the word. Now, hole punch the pack of vocab index cards in the upper right or left hand side of the cards. Thread the metal ring through the cards, and close the ring. Now, you have a nifty carry pack of vocab cards you can easily take anywhere and study. Quiz one another on the bus, in study, or in the cafetorium, and all you need is the pack of cards. The rings can be used again on new sets of cards.
REMEMBER TO USE THE GREEN TEAM HEADING ON ALL HOMEWORK
ASSIGNMENTS. The heading is placed on the upper right hand of your
paper. On the first line you should write or type your name. On the second
line, write or type your class ( color). On the third line, write or type the date of the assignment.
TYPING HOMEWORK When at all possible, type your work as it is easier to read. Always include your heading and always double space. If you can't type it, that's ok , but double space your writing as well (skip lines between each written line), and write legibly.
