Weeks of May 16 - 20
Our account with Quia will be up at the end of this week. This will be my final post as next year we will be introducing a new web program.
Next week:
Wednesday am - expository writing test
May 23rd - no school. Long weekend.
Friday, May 27 - measurement test in math (be familiar with measuring in mm and cm, 3 types of angles (obtuse, acute and right), perimeter, area, volume and capacity, know when to use different units of measurements and the have ability to estimate amounts and distances). Review chapter 8 in the textbook and in the floppy homework book for studying and practice. We will be reviewing the week of the 24th.
LA - we will finish off the year with our novel study, Underground to Canada. There will be no spelling test this week.
Math - We will be finishing up our measurement unit. (angles, volume, area, perimeter and length) There will be a test later next week. The next unit will be geometry.
Social Studies - We will spend the remainder of the year discussing and doing projects that have to do with Canada's history (eg. Confederation, WW I and II, the women's movement, the Great Depression, etc.).
