Here is a list of the costs for which you need to be prepared concerning our trip to France and Spain. Part 1: Costs due to EF Tours which are due to EF by March 6, 2006. Note: Because of the optional fees, I will not include a total. EF's France and Spain tour, departing from Pittsburgh Airport: +$1,830 Departure fee: +$174 EF Lifetime membership fee: +$95 *Stay ahead fee (due to our Cholet Exchange): +45 The four items above are costs you MUST pay. Optional excursion to Chartres and Loire Valley: +$140 (Note: Once we have established who will participate on this trip, I will ask you to vote on whether or not the group will take this excursion.) Optional excursion to Versailles: +$45 (Note: I have made an executive decision. We WILL take this excursion.) Optional All Inclusive Insurance Plan: +$115 (Note: This is something that each participant needs to decide.) Adults (age 23 before last day of tour): +315 Buy out the bus (assuring that we would not be mixed with another group). I doubt that we will do this. But I wanted to make you aware of this. • $155/person if we have 20 - 24 paying participants • $90/person if we have 25 - 29 paying participants • $50/person if we have 30 - 34 paying participants • $20/person if we have 35 - 40 paying participants Part 2: Other important costs (not to EF) Passport Fees. If you are 16 or older: $85 (passport fee - $55, execution fee - $30) If you are 15 or younger: $70 (passport fee - $40, execution fee - $30) Transportation to and from Pittsburgh. To be determined. Transportation from Paris to Cholet and then from Cholet to Paris. To be determined. Tips for bus driver and tour director. For our bus driver, a tip of $2 per student per day ($18, maybe less) is customary. For our tour director, who will accompany us throughout the EF portion of our tour, the tip is $3 per student per day ($27). The tour cost includes breakfast and dinner each day. Lunch is not included. Beverages at dinner are not included. Admissions to places not included in the tour (for example, going up the Eiffel Tower is not included, since not everyone wants to do that). Shopping money. This is different for everybody, so I can't estimate this. As far as Cholet expenses are concerned, the host families pick up most of the major costs.
