TENTATIVE ITINERARY FOR 2006 EXCHANGE

TENTATIVE ITINERARY
Dates are subject to change. If so, we will know in April.

June 13 (Day 1)
Leave Erie for Pittsburgh, and then on to France.

June 14 - June 19 (Days 2 - 7)
Arrive in Paris. Continue directly to Cholet.
Home stay in Cholet, France. We will experience life in an authentic European home and enjoy activities organized by our hosts, the students, parents and teachers of the Lycée Fernand Renaudeau. In the past we have visited the annual Puys du Fou medieval festival, Futuroscope, and more.

June 20 - 23 (Days 8 - 11)
We will spend four days and three nights in Paris. If we choose the Chartres & Loire Valley option, it will be on Day 10. During the evening of June 23, we will board an overnight train headed for the south of France.

June 24 (Day 12)
In the morning our train arrives in Toulouse, France. We'll spend some time there and in the nearby medieval city of Carcassonne. Then we're on our way to Barcelona, Spain.

June 25 (Day 13)
Today in Barcelona we will visit Monjuïc Hill (home of the 1992 Summer Olympics), the Sagrada Familia (unfinished cathedral), and more.

June 26 (Day 14)
We leave Barcelona, travel to Zaragoza to see the brightly colored domes of the Basilica del Pilar. Then we make our way to Madrid.

June 27 (Day 15)
Today we take a guided tour of Madrid. We will see the 2,800 room Royal Palace, the Puerto del Sol, and the world famous Prado museum.

June 28 (Day 16)
Today we head back to Fairview, enjoying what will be a 30-hour day, regaining the six hours we lost on the way to Europe.
