Dear Host Families,

I'd like to give you details on three things related to the exchange; The Farewell Dinner, a tee-shirt, and a video of the exchange.

The Farewell Dinner

On Monday October 27, starting at around 5:30 pm, we will have a dinner to say goodbye to our guests. This will take place in the FHS cafeteria. All host families are invited. Also, throughout the two weeks they are here, many students who are not hosting will become friends with the "Choletais". If you know any such people, please let them know that they are invited, too.

This will be a tureen style dinner. I'd like to divide the food types among the hosts families alphabetically.

Babcock - Peightal, please bring a main dish and a salad-type dish.

Rambish - Warner, please bring a main dish and a dessert-type dish.

The French Club will take care of buying pop and coffee.

The Tee-shirt

As a gift to the French students, the French Club will purchase tee-shirts specially made for the Cholet Exchange. However, we are looking for a tee-shirt design. If you have a creative idea and/or some artistic talent (or even computer designing talent), please submit an idea. Please, have no more than three colors in your design. If we have more than one submission, there will be a vote at the French Club meeting this Friday.

The person who creates the winning design will win a free tee-shirt. If any of you would like to buy a tee-shirt, you may. The price will be determined after we decide on a design.

The Video

My wife and I will be creating a commemorative DVD/video of our exchange. We will give copies to our guest the morning of their departure (since it will include photos of the farewell dinner). What we made for the 2001 exchanges (June and October) were nice, but thanks to some recently purchased computer programs, this year's will be much better.

I will be taking lots of digital pictures. If you have any photos to contribute, please get them to me. What I'd like are digital pictures, or pictures that you have already scanned. I will not have the time to scan them myself. There is no limit to the number of pictures we can include.

You can e-mail the photos for me or save them on a disk. What I especially want are photos taken when I'm not around -- at your homes or wherever you go with your guest.

If you'd like your own copy, all you need to do is give me a blank VHS tape, or a blank DVD. Note, make sure your blank DVD package says "DVD-R" and not "DVD+R". There will be no additioal cost.

That's all for this update. Any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me.

Merci for all that you will be doing!

Monsieur
