TRIP UPDATE - November 24, 2005
PLEASE BE SURE THIS INFORMATION GETS TO YOUR PARENTS!!!
Dear Travelers and Parents,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
It's been nearly three weeks since my last update and there is a lot of news to pass on to you.
BOARD APPROVES TRIP
On Monday, November 21 (one week earlier than I was expecting), the Fairview School Board approved our trip. NOTHING CAN STOP US NOW!!!
SECOND PAYMENT DUE
As you'll recall, your second payment of $400 is due December 5. The exceptions are those of you who joined after November 5. Your next payment is due no later than 30 days after you registered. If you are sending your payment in the mail, the payment must arrive at the EF offices by the deadlnes. It is not sufficient to simply have it postmarked by the deadline. You also have the option of paying online or by credit card.
WELCOME GIRARD STUDENTS
Our numbers are continuing to grow. We would like to welcome the six students from Girard High School and their teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Lueck, who are now officially a part of out exchange. To see the most recent list of names, click here.
IT'S TIME TO WRITE LETTERS
As part of the exchange with our friends in Cholet, you need to be matched with a host family. To do this, you will need to write a letter introducing yourself to the students of the Lycée Renaudeau . I will send all of these letters to Cholet. The host students will read these letters and determine who will stay with whom.
In these letters, tell about yourselves, your families, your interests, your activities, and whatever else you'd like them to know. Think of what you'd like to know about someone who is moving into your home. If you have allergies, you may want to mention that, too - just in case they have cats or other animals which may cause problems. Include your e-mail address. Hopefully yout host will get in touch with you soon. What is best is when host and guest get to know each other very well before meeting in person for the first time.
French students, write your letter twice (on the same piece of paper); once in English, once in French. This way, both you and your host have the opportunity to practice your new languages.
Spanish students can follow the same process. You'll be matched with Cholet students studying Spanish.
Please get those letters to me by December 15.
EF Website
If you haven't done so yet, please go the EF website to see information regarding your account. The first thing you should do is make sure all of your information is correct. From there you can also see the information EF has regarding our destinations, packing suggestions, and more. If you need for me to remind you of the account number, tour number and password, let me know.
That's all for now. Until next time,
Au revoir! Adios!
