Hi everyone. Just a few days to go. Almost everything is set. I hope you are all ready. I hope I'll be ready.
I have a few things to mention at this time.
New website The Cholet Exchange has a new website. It's www.choletexchange.com. A little easier to remember. For now, it just contains links to info you have already received. The pictures from the summer trip are back online and can be found at this address. (My wife needed her embroidery website back.) As we did in the summer, as well as in the past two exchanges, we will put pictures on the website so the families back in France can see what their kids are up to. If you have any you would like to contribute, feel free to e-mail them to me.
Please allow your students to check out the pictures from time to time. I don't know if Madame Bouvier will have a chance to get the word out to all of the Cholet families in the next few days. So they may not be aware of the website until you show them.
Lunches When the Cholet students are here, you decide how you want to handle lunches. Packing lunches may be the easiest suggestion, unless you want to pay for school lunches. They will be in school for lunch six times. I do not know if they will have enough money to buy lunches each of those days.
Andy Warhol Presentation As you know, on October 31, there will be an excursion to Pittsburgh. While there, we will visit the Andy Warhol Museum. As a way to prepare the Choletais for this visit, Mrs. Schoeller has graciously offered to make a presentation to them about Warhol. This will take place their first day in town, Friday, October 20, during first period. More details will follow.
Excursions We still have room on all excursions. If you want to go on one, let me know ASAP.
Thursday As you know, our friends are scheduled to land in Buffalo at 2:39 pm, and they should arrive at FHS somewhere between 5:00 and 5:30. I will be tracking their flights on continental.com. (If you wish to do the same, they're on Flight 057, leaving Paris at 3:55 am EST, and Flight 3079 leaving Newark at 1:29 pm.) Mrs. Dreistadt and Mrs. Strandwitz will go to Buffalo to pick them up. I will be in touch with them and let you know if there is a delay. The phone chain will be in effect. Most likely I will start it only if something is wrong. If you don't hear from me by 4:45, assume everything is OK.
Little Gifts When the Choletais come her, we like to give them gift packages. What this typical includes is nothing major, just little souvenir type gifts representing things from our area. Pencils, magnets, pins, brochures, etc. If you are able to provide about 29 copies of something that would make a nice little gift, let me know.
