COURSE EXPECTATIONS:  Br. Dan Tripamer c.s.v.
Geometry 0521

1.  Required materials that must be brought to class every day:

    a.  I-Pad
    b.  Notebook dedicated to geometry
    c.  Loose-leaf paper
    d.  Pencil
    e.  A TI-83+/TI 84 graphing calculator

2.  Classroom policies and procedures

    a.  Absolutely no writing on the desks.
    b.  Arrive to class on time.  You must be in class when the bell rings
         or you will be marked tardy.
    c.  There is no eating, drinking, or gum chewing in class at anytime.
    d.  Observe all school rules concerning the uniform code.  Those in
         violation will be referred to the dean.
    e.  Be respectful to others and me in the classroom,
         acting in a manner which promotes a learning atmosphere.

3.  Homework policy

    a.  Each assignment must be clearly labeled at the top of the page
         with your name, the section number, and the problem numbers.
    b.  You must do your homework on loose-leaf paper (NO SPIRAL
         NOTEBOOK PAPER) and you must use a pencil.
    c.  You must write out the original problem and then show all of your
         work. Your work must be from top to bottom not side to side.
    d.  Complete all of your OWN work on assignments and hand them
         in on time. NO LATE assignments will be accepted.
    e.  Extra help is available in the math lab.

4.  Evaluation/Grades

    a.  Grades will be based on test performance, quizzes, projects,
         and homework assignments. 

    b.  The QUARTER GRADE will be determined as follows:

          Homework assignments       35%
          Tests/Quizzes/Projects        65%

    c.  The SEMESTER GRADE will be determined as follows:

          First Quarter                       40%
          Second Quarter                   40%
          Semester Test                    20%

5.  Attendance/Absence

    a.  You are responsible for any homework you miss while absent.  I
         generally give everyone one week to make any absent homework.
    b.  Tests and quizzes are announced in advance.  If you are absent
         the day of a test or return the day of a test, you will be expected
         to make the test up within the number of days you were absent.
         (For example:  If you missed 2 days, you have 2 days in which to
          make it up.)
    c.  If you will be gone for a retreat or a field trip, let me know ahead
         of time so I can give you your assignments. 

6.  Teacher availability

    a.  I am available before school, after school and period 8 in the
         math lab.
    b.  All e-mails to me must be copied to your parents for me to respond.
