Dear Parents, Welcome to Third Grade at Germanshire Elementary! I hope you had a relaxing summer and are ready for school to begin. I am anxious to get to know each and every one of you. I have a lot of great learning experiences in store for your child this school year. If at any time you have a question, feel free to send a note, email or call. Together we can make this year a fun and challenging experience for your child. Make sure your child is present everyday and on time. Tardy notices are given each morning at 8:31. Please send a note if your child is absent. Please stress the importance of good behavior. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. I will not take valuable instructional time to deal with discipline problems. Homework is given every night Monday – Thursday. Weekly assessments are given on Friday. Please check your child’s Agenda Book nightly. After homework is completed, please check for completion, accuracy, and neatness. It should be placed in the Homework Folder and returned the next day. Progress Reports go home on Wednesday of each week. Please sign and return the report on Thursday. Your child is responsible for carrying the report home and returning it to school, therefore if you need to keep it for any additional time, please send a note. If you need to schedule a conference to discuss progress and/or concerns, please feel free to call the school or send a note and I will get back with you as soon as possible. We will have two Memphis City Schools Parent-Teacher Conferences this school year. Please feel free to contact me if there is an emergency. (416-3733) ext 20843 Please make sure your child reads at least 30 minutes each night. Please allow your child to read aloud to someone for at least 10-15 minutes each night.
