Resume, resume, resume! Remember that 99% of applications will ask for a resume and/or essay.  Even if you do not plan to attend college in the fall you will need one when applying for jobs as well.

First in Family Scholarships are available for students who are the first in their family to attend college. Apply at www.smithscholarships.org

AXA Achievement scholarship information can be found online at
www.axa-achievement.com  DEADLINE to apply is December 15, 2009

KFC Colonel's Scholars Program scholarship online applications will be available from December 1, 2009 through February 10,2010. To qualify a student must be:
a senior, GPA of 2.75 or higher, enrolling in college, be a US citizen and demonstrate financial need.

***REMEMBER: If you are planning to attend a 4 year university the deadline for most scholarship applications is December 1!!!

Northeast Alabama Community College scholarship applications can be printed from the website www.nacc.edu The deadline is January 29, 2010. You must have a 1 page resume and an essay so please get started. They want us to wait until 1st semester grades are in. You may turn in your scholarship packet anytime but
I will not send until January. You must complete an admissions application also

***For the guys: Remember when you turn 18 you are required to register with the Selective Service.  You can register online at: www.sss.gov



Copies of Funding Education Beyond High School is available for all Seniors.

When planning to attend a college or university there are two major pieces of paperwork you need to complete:
1. Fill out and submit an application for admission
2. Fill out and submit a scholarship application

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) has scholarships/grants available for high-demand fields of study for seniors and adults.  Visit the website at: www.alabamacareerlinks.org and contact Mr. Tina Sewell to set up an appointment at 844-4709 ext. 229.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) can be completed on the web.  This application is used to apply for Pell Grants. Visit: www.fafsa.ed.gov.
