Breakfast Tuesday (18th) morning 6:45 in the Atrium.  Please remember to bring $3.00 to cover the cost of food.  Wear your team uniform to school that day!

Just a reminder:  The school bus must be riden to and from competitions.  The only exceptions are club swimmers coming to the competition from practice.  This is a rule that all must follow.

Also, you must be in school minimum half day to either practice or compete.  If you are absent from school you may not attend practice or competitions.

Regardless of the time we finish our competition, tardiness to school the next day is not excusable.  This is school policy, not the athletic department's.

5 Dec 07
The bus for next Thursday's (13th) meet with Warhill and New Kent will leave from behind Grafton HS at 5:30 SHARP.  We will travel to the Hampton VA hospital for the annual holiday party.  Swimmers are asked to bring ONE food item.  Suggestions include:  bananas, oranges, grapes, cheese cubes, crackers, cookies, quick breads etc.  The swimmers will then fix the veterans plates of goodies and pass out Christmas gifts (provided by the hospital).  This visit counts towards NHS volunteer hours and is a very worthy cause.  Following the visit, we will travel by bus to nearby Hampton U. for our 8:00 warm-up.

The policy on bus travel is if you ride the bus to the meet, you ride the bus home from the meet.

On the topic of bus riding.  Ms. Hill has waited patiently at the YMCA for swimmers who have told her they need a ride back to school.  This has resulted in her coming in the building at 4:15 asking where the swimmers are who said they needed a ride.  If you don't need a ride, please tell her before getting off the bus, that way she knows for sure if she needs to return to the YMCA or not.

REMINDER:  NO CLUB APPAREL IS TO BE BROUGHT INTO HS MEETS OR WORN DURING COMPETITION.  THIS INCLUDES, SWIM BAGS, CAPS, T-SHIRTS, ETC ANYTHING THAT HAS A CLUB NAME EMBROIDERED OR STENCILED ONTO IT IS PROHIBITED.  THIS IS A GRAFTON HIGH SCHOOL MEET AND SHOULD BE REFLECTED IN WHAT THE SWIMMERS WEAR.  ALSO, NO JEWELRY IS TO BE WORN. RINGS, EARRINGS, BRACELETS LANCE BANDS, ETC., MUST BE REMOVED FOR COMPETITION.  FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THIS RULE MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

The deadline for spirit bag money is Friday, 7 December 2007.  As of yesterday, only a very few had paid for their spirit bags, don't miss the boat on this one, get your money in!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

4 Dec 07
Collection notices for spirit bags have been distributed.  Please make sure you pay $7.00 (Kristin Andleton is collecting) which covers spirit bags for the dual meet season.  Those that don't pay, will not receive spirit bags.  The bags are available for pick-up in the main office on meet days.

Islander is handling our shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants.  Forms were passed out at practice yesterday and will be available again today.  Please make your checks payable to "Islander".

Preparing for our first meet next week against Warhill and New Kent, two comparatively smaller schools.  They will need as many of our available parents as possible to help with the meet.  Please take the time to come down on deck and help run this meet quickly and efficiently.  ANY wet deck official will be asked to help.
